I began my research some years ago into the family history of my mother, Julia  Lawhorn(e) McKnight, which I knew very little about.  I wanted my children and  G-children to have more information about our ancestors than what I had.  So I  began my journey of looking into the history of the Lawhorn(e) Family.  The  excitement of looking through archive documents and gathering information from  other family members, made me feel like that little girl on Christmas morning.

So far I've found out that my G-Grandparents, Myers (Myles) and his first  wife Flora, had four children. Their names are as follow: English, Horace,  Phyllis and Izzie. He remarried and had nine children with Julia Ray Lawhorn. They were married around 1871 in Lugoff, South Carolina. Their children's  names are as follow: Robert, Eugene, Major, Jasper, Wiley, twins John and  James (Jim), and twins Richard and Mary.
